🏚 The Real Problem in South African Homes

In many South African homes, floors are made of raw, unfinished cement. These surfaces are:

  • rough and uneven

  • dusty and sandy

  • sometimes damp

That’s why PVC self-adhesive floor stickers can’t be applied directly to these floors — they simply won’t stick.

❌ Why They Don’t Stick

  • Too Rough: The adhesive backing can’t make full contact with uneven surfaces.

  • Dusty: Loose particles reduce adhesion and cause peeling.

  • Moisture: Water seeping from the ground can weaken the glue over time.

  • ✅ The Right Way to Install
  • Before applying PVC stickers, we recommend preparing a smooth and sealed base layer. Here’s how:
  • Option 1: Self-leveling compound

    • Use a cement-based leveling paste to smooth out the floor.

    • Let it dry fully (1–2 days).

    • Option 2: PVC underlay sheet

      • Use a thin PVC sheet or foam layer to create a clean, flat surface.

      • Great for renters or temporary setups.

      • ✨ Then What? Peel, Stick, Done!
      • Once the base is ready:

        • Clean the surface again

        • Peel the backing paper

        • Press each tile firmly
