🏚 The Real Problem in South African Homes
In many South African homes, floors are made of raw, unfinished cement. These surfaces are:
rough and uneven
dusty and sandy
sometimes damp
That’s why PVC self-adhesive floor stickers can’t be applied directly to these floors — they simply won’t stick.
❌ Why They Don’t Stick
Too Rough: The adhesive backing can’t make full contact with uneven surfaces.
Dusty: Loose particles reduce adhesion and cause peeling.
Moisture: Water seeping from the ground can weaken the glue over time.
Option 1: Self-leveling compound
Use a cement-based leveling paste to smooth out the floor.
Let it dry fully (1–2 days).
Option 2: PVC underlay sheet
Use a thin PVC sheet or foam layer to create a clean, flat surface.
Great for renters or temporary setups.
Once the base is ready:
Clean the surface again
Peel the backing paper
Press each tile firmly
